| About Mechatropolis |
Mechatropolis.com is an online community for mechanical and electrical engineers
engaged in the design of mechatronic systems. Mechatronics is the art and
science of integrating mechanics and embedded software to effect physical
interaction with the world. The website explores the process of learning in
several unique ways, including a reverse engineering wiki where community
members upload photos and annotations to explain how and why products are
designed.
The site is produced in collaboration between CMP Technology, a global marketing solutions company and How Machines Work, a creative studio with a deep understanding of the dynamics of technology marketing and a firm knowledge of what provokes a positive, engaged reaction from engineers and developers. Steve Arend of How Machines Work is the creator of the site and it's innovative "wiki teardown. The site will be moderated by Michael Barr, the dean of Mechatropolis, who has extensive experience as an electrical engineer, noted embedded systems expert and author.
