maxon motor’s EC motor range is now a comprehensive programme through the addition of electronically commutated DC motors in 10 and 13 mm diameters. maxon motor offers now a complete EC motor range from ø 6 to 60 mm.

The application field for EC micromotors is growing, while the space available for them is decreasing. A high density performance and outstanding efficiency are extremely important, especially for motors less than 20 mm in diameter. These are two criteria that the new EC motors meet perfectly. The EC 10 has an output of 8 watts and reaches a maximum permissible speed of 80,000 min-1. The EC 13 is available in 2 versions, a short one of 6 watt assigned power rating and a longer one of 12 watts. Both are designed for a maximum permissible speed of 50'000 min-1. All motors are available with or without Hall sensors. Their tried and trusted flexprint connections provide for simple and secure connection to the maxon speed controller, making dynamic speed control and positioning possible. The NdFeB magnetic material used for the rotor guarantees the highest torque in a minimum of space. On the mechanical side, the preloaded ball bearings provide precision and a high load capacity. Planetary gearheads from maxon’s modular system are available for lower speed applications with correspondingly higher torques.

maxon’s new EC motors are used in applications looking to benefit from the motors’ long service life, high speeds and lack of maintenance, such as medical technology, textile processing machinery, fitting machines and portable hand tools.

maxon motor ag has specialised in developing, manufacturing and marketing high-powered drive components and systems under the maxon motor brand name since 1970. The company employs around 1,450 staff worldwide.
