Canton, Mass—Copley Controls' Model 800-1514 servo amplifier provides independent (torque) control of two brushless motors. It's compatible with universal encoder and Hall feedback systems and thus frees designers to mix and match motors from different manufacturers for multi-axis equipment used in semiconductor fabrication, test and measurement applications, and automated assembly.
The amplifier, working from a 20-55 volt isolated DC supply, delivers two independently controlled outputs (4 amps peak, 3 amps continuous). The amplifier also provides a 5-volt output for encoder and Hall sensor operation. Drive torque is controlled by a ±10-volt command from a motion controller.
The servoamp is easily configured using CME 2 Windows software, versus wire-and-try setups.
The amplifier communicates with the setup computer via a RS232 link. Industry standard buffered encoder output, the torque command signal, and all control signals are optically isolated. The Model 800-1514 provides dual-channel status indicators, and protection circuits for voltage, load, temperature and I2t current limiting.
Contact the company directly for the datasheet. The servoamp, measuring 6.58-by-3.9-by-1.17 inches, is priced at $690. Delivery is stock to 4 weeks ARO. Contact Dean Crumlish.
