San Juan Capistrano, Calif. Endevco Corporation has introduced its Model 7285 low-cost piezoresistive accelerometer for vehicle crash, crush zone and impact testing. With a weight of less than 1 gram and a 2000 g full-scale range, the 7285 is designed specifically to meet the requirements of automotive safety customers.
The Model 7285 uses a high-output, micro-machined, monolithic sensing element, which features integrated mechanical stops to deliver reliable measurement data for crash test applications. With a frequency response of 0-4000 Hz, extending down to dc (steady state acceleration), it is suitable for measuring long duration transient shocks.
This adhesive-mount accelerometer also features a static acceleration limit of 10,000 g and an operating temperature range of 0°F to +150°F. This undamped device also features a resonant frequency in excess of 20 kHz and is said to offer the lowest phase shift available.
By providing an un-damped design with a high resonant frequency, the Endevco 7285 prevents data inaccuracies and reduces the risks and costs associated with repeating expensive tests.
